10 Tevet = 421, the 15th inspirational number (152 plus 142) and the value of the verse, "And Noah found favor in the eyes of God."
In our prayers today we compare the fast of 10 Tevet to the deluge in the time of Noah. The future flood will be one of knowledge of God.

The decreasing waters in Noah's time were a sign that the flood was over. Now, the increasing waters of knowledge are a sign of redemption.
