Q: For the past ten years I have been working in a number of educational roles in the Ministry of Education. For years, I have been dreaming about a different job that would allow me to employ more of my creative talent. I was just offered the job of my dreams – developing educational courses for Diaspora communities. The only problem, however, is that I will have to take a significant cut in salary. Should I follow my heart or my bank account?
A: I received a major principle from the Lubavitcher Rebbe: A person has to pursue “what he truly wants.” It would be very good if you could infuse the courses that you will create with some teachings of Chassidut and the inner dimension of the Torah. May you enjoy much success in good health and naches from all your family – and a good livelihood!
