Q&A: Promise Me Wealth

Q: I want to fulfill the Torah directive to give tithe to charity. The Torah promises great abundance to those who give tithe, saying, “And test Me please with this.” So I will give half of my salary to Gal Einai, and you promise me that I will become wealthy in the foreseeable future.

A: The Torah says, “And test Me,” referring to God, not to Gal Einai. In addition, it also says “please,” – a request. One should give charity and by doing so, "test" God by means of a request.
