The value of the first two words of Parashat Vayeilech, “And Moses went” (וְיֵלֵךְ מֹשֶׁה) is 411, the same as “chaos” (תֹּהוּ). As we approach Moses’ final days, the Torah hints that his higher root was in the Shemitah (7000 years) of chaos (שְׁמִטַּת הַתֹּהוּ), which the Arizal explained refers to the World of Chaos, which shattered and broke. Moses’ origin in the World of Chaos, where he also tried to rectify reality (see Alter Rebbe’s Torah Or 51d, ma’amar Mi Sam Peh La’adam), is alluded to in the explanation Pharaoh’s daughter gave for his name, “For I have drawn him out of the waters” (כִּי מִן הַמַּיִם מְשִׁיתִהוּ); the letters in the word “drawn him out” (מְשִׁיתִהוּ) permute to spell “my name is chaos” (שְׁמִי תֹּהוּ). Through the Torah that Moses gave, he will succeed in rectifying both our reality and the World of Chaos.

The phrase, “And Moses went” (וְיֵלֵךְ מֹשֶׁה), whose value is 411 appears 4 times in the Torah. 4 times 411 is 1644, which is also the value of one of Moses’ most important statements, “You shall love Havayah your God with all of your heart, and with all of your soul, and with all of your might” (וְאָהַבְתָּ אֵת י־הוה אֱ־לֹהֶיךָ בְּכָל לְבָבְךָ וּבְכָל נַפְשְׁךָ וּבְכָל מְאֹדֶךָ). It culminates with “all of your might,” a reference to the power of the chaotic lights that are in us and can serve God even beyond the limits of what we believe is possible.

The sages (Sanhedrin 90b) relied on the verse, “God said to Moses: Behold, you will lay down with your ancestors; and [this people] will rise up” (וַיֹּאמֶר הוי' אֶל מֹשֶׁה הִנְּךָ שֹׁכֵב עִם אֲבֹתֶיךָ וְקָם [הָעָם הַזֶּה]), for evidence that there will be a resurrection of the dead. The value of the two operative words, “will lay down… and will rise” (שֹׁכֵב… וְקָם) is 468, which is the product of 18 (חַי) and 26 (י־הוה), alluding to the phrase, “Alive is God” (חַי הוי'); just as God is eternal and alive, so too will the tzaddikim be brought back to life

The value of “behold, you will lay down… and will rise” (הִנְּךָ שֹׁכֵב… וְקָם) is 543—the value of “Moses” (מֹשֶׁה), 345, in reverse and the value of God’s Name, “I will be what I will be” (אֶהְיֶה אֲשֶׁר אֶהְיֶה)—which is equal to the words in between, “with your ancestors” (עִם אֲבֹתֶיךָ). Thus, the full phrase “Behold, you will lay down with your ancestors; and will rise” (הִנְּךָ שֹׁכֵב עִם אֲבֹתֶיךָ וְקָם) equals 2 times 543, or 1086, which is the value of the names of the four matriarchs, “Sarah Rivkah Rachel Leah” (שָׂרָה רִבְקָה רָחֵל לֵאָה), since the entire Resurrection of the Dead depends on the rectification of the feminine.
