The gematria of the opening phrase of Parashat Shoftim (Deuteronomy 16:18) “You shall appoint judges and officials in all your communities” (שֹׁפְטִים וְשֹׁטְרִים תִּתֶּן־לְךָ בְּכׇל־שְׁעָרֶיךָ), is 2556, which is the triangle of 71—the sum of integers from 1 to 71, where 71 is the number of judges in the Great Sanhedrin.
Parashat Shoftim includes the commandment to appoint a king. The value of “King of Israel” (מֶלֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל) is the same as “the law of the kingdom is indeed the law” (דִּינָא דְּמַלְכוּתָא דִּינָא)
Moses reveals that there will be a prophet like him that will continue his leadership. He says, “A prophet from your midst, from among your brethren, like myself, will be appointed by God; that is whom you shall heed” (נָבִיא מִקִּרְבְּךָ מֵאַחֶיךָ כָּמֹנִי יָקִים לְךָ י-הוה אֱ-לֹהֶיךָ אֵלָיו תִּשְׁמָעוּן). The value of these words is 1839, which is 3 times 613, and the value of the 7 prophetesses of Israel (see Megillah 14a), “Sarah Miriam Devorah Channah Avigayil Chuldah and Esther” (שָׂרָה מִרְיָם דְּבוֹרָה חַנָּה אֲבִיגַיִל חֻלְדָּה אֶסְתֵּר).
1839 (see above) is also the value of 3 times Moshe Rabbeinu (מֹשֶׁה רַבֵּינוּ) as well as “Torah Prayer Teshuvah” (תּוֹרָה תְּפִלָּה תְּשׁוּבָה). It is also the value of “The Indwelling of the Shechinah in Israel” (גַּל עֵינַי וְאַבִּיטָה נִפְלָאוֹת מִתּוֹרָתֶךָ) and the value of “Open my eyes so that I may see the wonders of Your Torah” (הַשְׁרָאַת הַשְּׁכִינָה בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל).
